directory copy Directory Submissions – Directories and ServicesIf you are starting a new blog or even have an existing one, it’s a great idea to do some directory submissions. There are 2 types of directories:

  • Normal directories
These are just your standard directories and unless you have heaps of additional time they are not that important
  • SEO friendly directories
These are your key to directory success as Google loves them. The reason for this is that they manually review sites and are quite particular about what sites they let in. If they accept your site you have a high quality back link that Google loves.
TIP: A strategy to ensure you are accepted (not guaranteed though) is to have at least 20 unique and valuable posts on your blog that have been gradually added over 10+ days (you can back date posts before you publish to “fake” this… the more the better) and DO NOT monetize your blog yet. Your blog home page needs to be clean and professional looking. Submit to the SEO friendly directories and then after 30 days you can monetize your blog as most will have looked at your blog by then. Keep adding posts every day or two to show that it is a “loved” and current blog updated regularly.

Directories:

I have added links to sites who update their lists regularly so you can keep completely up to date… these are the lists that I go off.

SEO Friendly Directories – **Just focus on this at first!!!

Normal Free Submissions:

Normal Paid Submissions:

Niche Directories

Like any submissions this can be a time consuming process! You have 2 options to combat this:

  • You can purchase a directory submitter for the Normal Directories… up to you but I don’t believe it is worth it
  • You can pay a company a certain amount for manual SEO friendly directory submissions… much better option in my opinion. You can get 100 SEO friendly directory submissions for around $15. This doesn’t guarantee acceptance just manual submissions by people who do it all the time. When you think how long it would take you to do it yourself… $15 is pretty good.
info.vilsilencer.com have a manual service or you can Google “manual directory submissions” and find one. Make sure they state “manual submission” and “SEO friendly directories”.

Some important notes:

  • Keep your site clean and professional for the 30 days after you have done the SEO directories.
  • Google likes to see progressive, slow links so the more advisable option is to use a “rolling submission” where they are submitted randomly over 90 days. If you choose this method then it is easier you to do the work yourself… just do 10-15 every week for 12 weeks off the info.vilesilencer.com Top 100 list or you can buy a “rolling submissions” package but it is a bit more expensive.
  • Directory submissions aren’t as effective as they used to be so include it as part of your overall strategy but your time can be better spent. Spending $15 on 100 directories or max of 45mins a week is more than adequate.

The 3 Killer Ways to Use RSS feeds.

In this article:

  • How to get your RSS Feed
  • Adding RSS Subscribe Buttons to Your Blog
  • Submit your rss feeds to directories – List of directories & some automated tools
  • Use RSS feeds as Content – WP Plugins and how to Mix Feeds

rss copy RSS – 3 Killer Ways to Use RSSLet’s start with the basics… what is an RSS feed? RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”. In terms of your blog, your rss feed is a feed of your blog posts. When someone subscribes to your feed they will be notified when you add a new blog post by the rss aggregator they use. An aggregator accesses the RSS feeds of websites a person subscribes to and organizes the results. That is a very basic description.

-

There are 3 main ways you can use RSS feeds:

  1. You must put rss buttons (rss chicklets) on your blog so readers can easily subscribe to your feed… that way they’ll come back!
  2. You should submit your rss feed to rss directories, much like you do with articles, videos etc.
  3. You can subscribe to rss feeds to automatically add content to your website

How to get your rss feed

This is very easy. If you use WordPress, then it creates a feed for you automatically:

http://www.yourdomain.___/feed/

Basically just add /feed/ to the end of your domain.

If for any reason you need to create it yourself, an extremely popular rss creator is Feedburner.com.

  • You just sign up for a Google account or sign in with your Adwords account.
  • Enter your feed address and hit ‘Next’
  • Enter the details about your feed name
  • Once feed is burnt take note of the feed address
  • Now choose what platform you are going to put your rss button/chicklet on and follow the instructions

Adding rss Buttons/Chicklets to your Blog

Even though you have an rss button on your site it is still a good idea to add the rss aggregator buttons that are commonly used so your feed goes into the mix of the aggregator the reader always use ie. Google, My Yahoo, My MSN etc.
TIP: Always use Subscribe, Google, My Yahoo, My AOL and then others you are familiar with. Between 5 and 8 is a good amount.

TIP: Many Themes now have an RSS chicklet on the theme so there is no need to add the button to your blog. Just see if you can see the rss logo, “Subscribe” “Subscribe: Comments Posts”… or something like that.

Get the chicklets from:

Feedburner

Top Rank Blog

Once you have the code either paste it into your sidebar.php code from Appearance/Editor/Sidebar.php OR
Add the code as a Text option under Widgets: Appearance/Widgets – Drag text box into the sidebar and paste the code into the text box, then save.

Submit your rss feeds to directories

This is self explanatory. Just take your rss feed (either yourdomain.___/feed OR your feedburner feed) and submit to the following directories.
TIP: As soon as you add about 5 initial posts to your site (try to do in the first day or 2) then add your site to feedage.com… it helps get you indexed really quickly!

Automated RSS Submiters

RSS Submit – This submits to over 100 rss sites. It is expensive but highly recommended if you value rss and use rss submissions for your backlinking blogs, article author rss feeds, squidoo etc.

All Scoop RSS Submit – This is a free rss submitter which submits to about 30 directories. It is Windows only.

Use rss feeds as Content

This is a way to get additional content onto your blogs but IT SHOULD NEVER BE ALONE. It can be up to 25% of your total content and to make it more accepted by Google you can add a paragraph to the start of the feed to add some uniqueness to it.

IMPORTANT: I must stress that if this is your main blog that you want build on and keep for years to come then do not use this technique. If you are doing all you can to keep on the good side of Google… DON’T use this technique. It is for additional, supporting blogs that you need help building the content for but aren’t really important to rank well with Google.

Plugins to use RSS feeds as content

To use automated posting of content to your blogs you will need a plug in to do this. You can add these plugins by downloading them and transferring to the plugins folder on your WordPress site OR the easy way is to choose ‘Add New’ under the Plugins menu and do a search for ‘WP o Matic’

WP o Matic - This has some advanced features like being able to select a specific category for a feed and also the use of a templating system which allows you to add code or text targeted to that rss feed.

Mixing RSS Feeds

If you want to make an rss feed from several pages or sites use:

Yahoo Pipes – This is the best way to mix feeds as it is allows for so much control and versatility. You have so many options for filters to block certain keywords, stop duplicate posts, use different types of rss inputs and much more. Another huge benefit is the fact that you can alter it as opposed to many others where once you mix it, is is unchangeable.

RSS Mix – This is a great way to mix rss feeds. It is easier to use than Yahoo Pipes but lacks the advanced features. If you just want a quick and basic mix that won’t change then this will be a great option.

plr PLR Best PLR SuppliersThere are hundreds of sites supplying PLR (Private Label Rights), a lot of them free PLR. The tip to being successful is finding PLR that is limited to no more than 250 people… the smaller the number the better. You are looking for quality articles on a limited edition basis.
If you are using PLR for blog content and article submissions for links then you need to re-write the articles and ensure they are keyword rich and informative for the reader and at least 30% different.
If you are using PLR for mass article submission, you need to ensure the article is high quality and encourages the reader to click on your link. The article needs to be relevant to the post or site you are linking to. Your resource box should read like an extension of your article and “sells” the link, not just “Your Name writes about Keyword at YourWebsite.com”
TIP: Look for limited edition PLR. If you go for a membership try to find one which allows you to choose the articles you want instead of being supplied 400+ articles a month with 350+ of them in niches you are not in. This usually works on a credit system where you get x amount of credits a month and you can ‘purchase’ any of the articles on the site for a set amount of credits.
TIP: Be very clear about what you need out of PLR. I have heaps of PLR cluttering up my hard drive that I will NEVER use because at the start I would just see huge lists of products for $49 and buy them. Majority of the markets I will never be in, the software is dated (and was at the time I bought it, hence it being so cheap!) and so is a lot of the IM PLR as technology and strategies move so quickly. I advise spending $80 on high quality articles you will use in your niche rather than thousands of articles you won’t use for $49… just a suggestion!

Best PLR Suppliers

NOTE: I would LOVE feedback if you have purchased any of these products… or have a suggestion for other PLR products you recommend.

NOTE: Some of these are limited places so they may not be available. They do open up occasionally so if you are interested make sure you register so you are notified when they open up as there will be limited places.

  • Niche Content Packages - They Offer either one off purchases, limited edition articles and different levels of membership based on the credit system over a huge range of topics. They also provide ebook covers and headers both complete and a photoshop version you can re-brand and a photshop action script to convert it to a newsletter cover.
TIP: These are great value and I have bought packs and copyscaped the articles to find not a lot published so for $20 I created an entire site of 10 pages of content and only had to spin 5! They usually release 250 packs so if you are using it as articles or web content go for packs with higher remaining numbers. You can also use them as an ebook for opt in downloads & another tip: if it is product related put some banners, product links and affiliate links in the PDF.
  • All Private Label Content – They have a few options. You can order one off bundles or memberships. They have 5 memberships: Finance, Mom, Marketing, Health and Green. Then they have various niche article packs, press release packs, Recipe Bundles, Research Bundles and a few other options. The quality is high.
  • PLR Pro – Once you read the Sales letter you will see this is a fantastic offer… but they are launching in segments so make sure you put your name down to be notified when it’s open. There is A LOT in the offer so read the sales letter as there is not enough space here.
  • Nicheology – High Quality PLR with a solid proven training system. The training makes this one a high recommended product for those wanting to add PLR as a stand alone arm of their business.
  • Niche Revolution – This is a bit different. They provide you with 10 adsense sites with PLR packs for each niche, 2 niche eBooks with a sales and thank you page and an adsense site for that niche as well. This all sounds great but consider if it really fits into your business model. If setting up heaps of Adsense sites & selling PLR products is part of your strategy then this may be for you… if you are looking for a certain topic PLR for blogs and article submission then it is not. They have limited membership spots so it may not be available.
  • Niche Empires – This is a mass PLR supplier. You buy hundreds of articles, ebooks, software products and video series for a really low price. Some of it is a bit junkie, mainly the older stuff but it can be a good start if you are prepared to rewrite a lot, make some products to capture emails and interested in setting up websites in lots of niches.
  • PLR Article Pros – Limited Edition, very cheap but have not bought so cannot confirm quality.
  • Spin Ready PLRThis is currently closed for new members! This is a Jason Potash product. It is a membership where you get a number of ‘coded’ or pre-spun articles every month plus a credit system to ‘purchase’ from their PLR in your chosen niche. It is a great service and even better you get 3 of Jason’s Article software products… Article Announcer, Content Composer (a great product) and CC Site Builder whilst you are a member. One thing to consider is that ALL of the members get the same pre-spun articles SO if everyone uses all of the spun articles then nothing is unique unless you have done some more to it yourself… hope that makes sense! It is still a great service though, especially considering the software you get with it.
  • IMBuzz - This is quality Software PLR. They release a rebrandable software product monthly that consumers would be interested in… twitter, article submitter etc. Each product comes with a rebrander.
  • There are heaps more just Google “PLR” or “Limited Edition PLR” and see what you can find.
